I really cannot categorize Ryan as the fundamentalist Christian that we could have been, given our background. He is certainly far more liberal than most Christians that I know. (I mean really, how many Christians do you know that are for gay rights?) In our discussions, it surprised me how close our views were on a variety of subjects. I have only recently caught up with him after a nearly 2 decade absence. Our talks have been provocative and enlightening.

All in all, Ryan, I am glad to have reconnected with you and am certainly proud to call you a friend. I look forward to our future discussions and your first post here at Reason vs Faith.
