Originally I was going to write a piece on how the intense Christian slant on the History Channel has ruined most of its programming for me. So, I started my research with a simple google search, “history channel christian slant”. The websites I got back….were not what I wanted…..at all.
Apparently, Christians hate the History Channel. Even though, they are the victors in all its stories, the subject of about 90% of its programming and there are countless hours on the network a day seemingly devoted to proving that all the fairy tales and morality scare stories contained in the BIG BOOK are true, the History Channel is too liberal for them!
I found a link to the History Channel forums where this is posted:
Liberals do not want anything factual or truthful in schools, just as long as it supports their false sense or reality that says there is no God. They want to keep believing God does not exist so they can keep believing they can continue with their false beliefs that they will never have to be held accountable for thier godless lifestyles.
God is very real & you WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE!!!
A-huh… riiiiight……….
Another lovely post on the same forum is by a wonderfully informed man named Steve. What’ve you got to say Stevey?
I had the painful experience of watching Liberal theologian after liberal theologian grace the camera with their effeminate condescending foreign accents
attempting to tell us exactly what our Lord and our church did, said, thought, meant, etc. and of course it is all twisted and evil.Jesus was of course a liberal pacifist who came to preach abortion on demand, free love, and socialism. But his message was distorted and hijacked for 2000 years by eeeeevil religious types who injected their repressive twisted morality into his teaching.
Bahahahahahaha!
Thanks for the laugh history channel! I think I’m done watching programs that consult atheists, skeptics, and modernists as experts about Jesus.
You’ve taught me the merits of reading a good solid orthodox Christian book for my history lessons!
God Bless,
Steve
Thats right Steve! You’re God of love and understanding would certainly be appalled at you hearing the ideas of others, especially if they spent years and years in liberal colleges that taught the dreaded “voodoo science” studying the subjects they are discussing. And he would certainly be upset over the foreign people! I mean how dare they have accents from they’re own language left after learning yours!
I’m not saying these were the only opinions on the matter, there were a few effeminate liberals running a muck on the site, but they weren’t quite as funny as our good buddy Steve.
If you watch the History Channel, certain shows will immediately come to mind when I say Christian Slant. Drive-Thru History, the episode in Rome focuses almost entirely on the post-pantheon time frame. Its like that in almost all of the series, in every location we are shown the Christian history and not much else. Another that particularly disappointed me was the Hell special. I was promised a look at the Devil in all his malicious forms, but all I got was a look into Christian perceptions of Hell through the ages.
Not only are there Christian spun specials, oh no, there are entire series devoted to finding artifacts from the bible, places from the bible, to proving that the stories on its pages are not only plausible, but entirely real.
I don’t understand how it could be offensive to them when it’s all in their favor!
Christians are natural complainers. It’s in their genes.
It goes back to the “Will the real Christians please stand up?” - While Christianity always ends up the victor, the specific brand of Christianity doesn’t mesh with the whiner’s blind interpretation of the fairytale, thus the whining.
a lot of the ‘digging for the truth’ bible stuff is quite good. not really proving the bible is true more proving that the storys in the bible are just “magic” versions of actual events.
This may be related to the delusion of persecution, where despite being one of the largest and most politically powerful groups in the US (indeed, by all estimates the evangelists are at their strongest peak yet), many have stated feelings of being a persecuted minority by ’secular’ forces.
