Q:1 What do you do with my information once I register?

Your information is stored in a secure database which is only used to identify you while you are logged in to the site. We do not share or sell your information with third parties.

Q:2 Once I register on Reason VS Faith, will I receive spam?

Not from us! You may receive our feed, but not nothing more unless you sign up for the newsletter. Even then, that is all you will receive. If you are a posting author, you will receive an email whenever someone comments on your posts.

Q:3 Do you track IP addresses? If so, why?

Yes, we do. In fact, just about every internet site that you visit does! This information is used to track things like visitor loyalty, what regions visit the site the most and what site you came from. This type of information is used to find out what we can do to better tailor the site to our users.

Vision

Q:1 What is the goal of this site?

The primary purpose of Reason VS Faith is to build and maintain a community of participating users that is made up of theists (those that believe in one or more deities) and non-theists (atheists and agnostics). The goal is to stimulate an open, intellectual dialog between the two with the aim of better understanding one another.

Q:2 What types of issues are covered in Reason VS Faith?

The floor is open! Whether it's politics, theology, evolution, creationism, philosophy... You get the point. If religion in general plays a role in it, we want to discuss it.

Q:3 Who can participate?

In short, anyone. There are articles and comments to the articles. Anyone may comment on any article from any author. For the first few months, authors will be hand picked for both sides. The moderators will keep a close eye on those that comment on the articles. Those of you that comment frequently may be contacted by one of the moderators and asked if you would like to become an author. An author is one who generates articles on the site which can be commented on.

Contact

Q:1 How do I contact you?

You may contact us by either using our contact form or you may pick up the phone and give us a call. Our number is (612)424-8018.

Q:2 I would like to take part in the discussions. How do I contribute to Reason VS Faith?

That depends upon what level you would like to contribute. If you would like to simply add your thoughts to an article, the site is open for anyone to post a comment to any post. However, if you would like to post your own article, you will first have to register on the site. From there, please contact us to let us know that you are interested in contributing to the site. Please be sure to let us know what type of material you would like to contribute and whether you are an atheist, agnostic or theist. We may not be able to immediately accommodate your request due to the fact that we are trying to keep everything as evenly distributed as possible. We do not want to have a site that is overly represented by one view over another.

Q:3 Is it possible for me to contact a particular author besides leaving a comment on his or her posts?

We are currently working on getting all of our administrators and contributors their own site branded email addresses. We do not wish to place their personal email addresses in public view for obvious reasons. Once we attain the site branded addresses, yes, you will be able to shoot them a personal email. Whether or not they respond to it is at their discretion. All emails become the sole property of Reason VS Faith and its contributors. This means that should they receive an email that they would like to post on the site, they are permitted to do so. If that is the case, your email address will remain hidden from public view.
