I wasn't always an atheist. In fact, I took part in the "born again" experience as a youth and continued on that path late into my teen years. Outwardly exuberant about my faith, I was always filled with questions and doubt. The problem that I had was that I always had questions that no one could seem to answer. So, I read. A lot.

Of course, this isn't the place for my de-conversion story. I started this site with the intention of bringing believers and non-believers together in a forum where they could openly and honesty discuss, debate and understand one another a little better. Some would say that this idea is absurd and impossible. I beg to differ.

I am happily married and a father to one of the most precious daughters a father could hope for. As a person that grew up in a Christian fundamentalist home, I feel obligated to raise my daughter in an environment that is free of religious intolerance and guilt. That doesn't mean that she does not get exposure, nor do I teach her to berate those that do believe. She is simply taught to be accepting of others, regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation, race, color, creed or religious background. She is taught that we are all just people.
